    Musings on advancing senility
Well, tomorrow another year to add. You know you're getting older when you (a) go into a room and forget why you went there in the first place (b) you bump into someone you know  but forget their name --- ouch! and (c) become more absent minded, misplacing things. There were more but I can't remember ... . ; -)
Hope everyone had a good weekend.

    Weekend
Well, good weekend despite weather, I took Mam'zelle Amélie to the Dunfermline Gala on saturday morning and she loved it. The theme this year was cowboys and cowgirls, there were also stiltwalkers in various weird and wonderful costumes, bands and someone in a gorilla suit in the procession to Pittencrieff Park!
Rest of weekend was doing some much needed gardening.
On another note, does anyone know if you can upload pix (and how many) if you've only a basic free lj account?

    Cheers!

    Mobile
    Hi folks,

Just a wee note, I recently lost my mobile (and all the numbers on it) but hope to have things resolved soonish. Will have to get new phone unlocked and hope to get sim card with old number on it. Have emailed some folk already so this is mostly for folk whose email addresses I dont' have.
Hope you all have a good weekend when it comes wherever you are and whatever the weather.

    Long time no post

Well, been a long time since I last posted here.  We are doing fine and Mam'zelle is nearly 18 months old now, and taking her first steps with our help.  Have embarked on beginners wine making, all that's needed now is to get the stuff bottled.
Hope to post a bit more soon, hope everyone has a good weekend (whether you watch Eurovision or not ; ))

    Into 2008!
Hi All! Hope everyone had a good Xmas and New Year! We had a good time over the festive season and Hogmanay, anybody watch Still Game?
One thing I've noticed each time xmas comes around is the increasing number of houses with outside xmas decorations/lights, some cool, some tacky and a few folk trying to outdo each other.
There's been a wee bit of snow up here, though thankfully not much in the way of disruption in commuting to and from work (so far).

    Best wishes for 2008!

Well, I can't believe how time has flown by! Just a short post here. It's almost 3 years since [info]lavindelf and I met at Finsternis and we'll be at it's successor Fimbulvetr on friday as an anniversary of our first meeting,   all going well. ;-).
It's also almost a year since Mam'zelle Amélie Iona was born, that was an amazing time, so life changing! : -) Our wee gem is doing well and giving us so much joy.

    Whitby ahoy!

Well, a week tomorrow [info]lavindelf, myself and Amélie will be heading to Whitby staying for the week, just hope the weather's fair or at least dry for most days. We hope to see some of you guys down at WGW, hope it's a good 'un! Our wee one will be nearly 11 months old then, time really has flown by during the past year and it's amazing how Amélie's progress has been.
On another note, we have acquired some demijohns for either homebrewing/winemaking some point this year or maybe early next year. One thing I'd like to know is winemaking easier than brewing beer or vice versa?

    Cheers!

    Weekend

Had a good holiday weekend. On Saturday evening, I headed out to Edinburgh to see what the new Goth pub the Black Rose Tavern was like. On the platform at Rosyth, a northbound train (possibly the Perth train) drew into the station and among the travellers staggered a couple of drunken characters. They remained on the platform as everyone else got off, and one of them shouted over to me “haw mate, are we near Glasgow?” I replied “nope, Rosyth”  “Where’s that?” came the reply, and I said “in Fife”  “Where’s that? ”, “North of Edinburgh!!” . The look on their faces was a picture. There followed a bit of a conversation between the two drunks and then one of them said “how much is a taxi to Glasgow,? Is it £100?” I said I didn’t know and they crossed over to the other platform seemingly deciding to go back the way they travelled. They got on the train and the last seen of them was them having quite a conversation with the guard/conductor. You couldn’t make that kind of situation up.

The rest of the evening was uneventful. The Black Rose Tavern is a great wee place, perfect to chill out in and I saw a few peeps there and did a bit of catching up. The atmosphere is relaxed and the surroundings cool. Anyone visiting Gothic Edinburgh should add that to the pubs to visit. I then headed back home, getting the last train back.

Sunday was chilled, we had a relaxing day and Amélie was on good form, she is such a wee star! It’s amazing how she’s progressing and I’m sure she’ll be on the move pretty soon. Will have to do some work on the garden sometime though, if the weather is fair. Monday saw [info]lavindelf, me and Amélie pay a visit to Devilla Forest which is a great place to go. Excellent for chilling out  and we had a fair walk along there, seeing two deer into the bargain though we couldn’t tell what kind they were.

Hope everyone had a good weekend! : )

    Cheers!

    Weekend

Weekend was good though weather on saturday wasn't too good. Yesterday though was better so [info]lavindelf  me and wee Amélie took a drive along the coast to the beach at Lundin Links. It was Mam'zelle's first visit to the beach and she loved it.
Glad of the public holiday on the 17th, may go on another wee trip then. We'll be beginning to count the weeks till WGW soon.

    stuff

Payrise came through at last which will be very welcome, took long enough be sorted out. Thank goodness the weekend is nearly here, hopefully weather'll be fine.
Who's going to Whitby in October then? We'll all be there, accommodation all sorted out now. I had a shufti at the line up of bands, couple of which I've not heard of before. Anyone doing the steam train from Grosmont during the Whitby weekend?
In other news, wee Amélie is almost 9 months old, and teeth numbers 7 and 8 are beginning to make an appearance plus our wee gem is starting to make her first attempts to crawl, though backwards, what a wee star!
Have a good weekend when it comes folks!

    Quite a weekend

Was a good weekend all in all, on saturday, [info]lavindelf myself and wee Amélie drove to Loch Katrine (never been there before or if I have it's been sooo far back I can't remember). Weather was ace and we got on the steamer Sir Walter Scott for a trip round the loch. Amazing scenery, Ben A'an and the islands, great stuff! : ) There were a lot of bikers on the boat and at the lochside, seems that it was a rally staging post and a number of clubs were there and some of the bikes were very old but beautifully restored (a few really old bangers were there too).
Sunday was very wet, but we pottered around and went to the local garden centre, huge place. Got glimmerings of ideas for the garden.
Hope everyone had a good weekend! : )

    Cheers!

Well, this sunday another year older and time to reflect on the year past. Time in which I became a dad and what an experience it is! : )
I hope everyone has a great weekend wherever you all are and whatever you do, have a blast of a time folks! : )

    That was a weekend!

Last weekend was pretty cool (weatherwise for sure), [info]lavindelf, myself and Mam'zelle Amélie went up north on friday for the first Aviemore Gothic Weekend. We had a good time and we also did the Strathspey steam train trip as well.  T'was good to catch up with [info]madame_queeny, [info]techmad, [info]vodkafrenzy, [info]sheepthief, [info]daboss, [info]psychohoebeast and wee Rowan. Also big thanks to Paul and Nikki for letting us stay over at theirs.
On Sunday morning, [info]lavindelfdid the Race for Life at Hopetoun House, improving on last year's time, am so proud of her! : )

    Weekend
Quite a weekend we had. On saturday [info]lavindelf and myself took Amélie along to the Carnegie Centre swimming pool for the first time. We went into the learners pool and we had her in a baby a-float support and she loved being in the water, smiles all round which was great.
Yesterday, we went to Glasgow to visit my mum in the nursing home and she was chuffed to see Amélie again, a good time there. Also visited my sister and nephews too and they were amazed at the progress our wee one is making! : )
We afterwards went to the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, first time since it was refurbished. The museum itself was good and very busy for sure. Though the level of availability of baby changing facilities left a lot to be desired.
Also Amélie is cutting yet another tooth! Next to the other new one so that will be a total of four for the wee soul!
Hope you all had a good weekend!

    Cheers!

Hope you all have a cool weekend!

    Cheers!
